Mrs. Cora Richardson

Cora Dean Caldwell-Richardson, daughter of Rigg and Louella Caldwell was born in Stoneham, Texas on May 11, 1932. She was the eighth of nine children. Cora confessed to Christ at an early age at Stonehamville United Methodist Church. After moving to La Marque, she united with McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church where she was active in the Mass and Gospel Choirs, United Methodist Women and Lena Perryman Senior Program until her failing health prevented her from doing so. She was also affectionately known for her service in the church kitchen. On Sunday, September 30, 2018, Cora departed this life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hairl Richardson Sr., her parents, Rigg and Louella Caldwell, sisters, Tessie Wilburn, Ruby Whitfield, Melba Davis and Bertie Lee Williams; brothers, Willie Lee Caldwell, John Ira Caldwell, Elliott Caldwell, Uvon Caldwell and Isiah Ford. Cora graduated from George Washington High School in Navasota, Texas. She began her medical career as a Nurse Aide with John Sealy Hospital. After a brief tenure there, she worked as a Heart Technician and Respiratory Therapist at Mainland Center Hospital until her retirement. Cora leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, Harold Jr. and Joe Nathan; daughters, Marilyn Richardson and Barbara Richardson; grandchildren, Tiffany D. Richardson, Shaunn Keith Winston, Shaunna Nicole Winston, Rayshawn Jones, Octavia Champagne Richardson, Shantaye Nicole Richardson, Kennedi Monique Richardson, Konnor Joe Richardson and Kayne Madden Richardson and Special Child, Coco; great grandchildren, Keegan Chapman-Winston, Keldon Harold Richardson, Corinthian Lee Winston-Campbell, Kolbi Uvon Richardson, Kaden Nicholas Winston and Colton Jamale Whitely and a host of nieces, nephews, family members her McKinney Memorial UMC Family, devoted neighbors and friends; and special beloved and devoted daughters: Ladel Bell, Hazel Benton, Carrie Britton, Sharon Carter, Nettie King. Beloved and Devoted Friends: Denise Barrett, Edna Courville, Mattie Hudson, Keith Wright and The Lamb Family.
