Mr. Joel "Beve" Rubio

Joe "Beve" Rubio passed away on November 16, 2016 at his home in Texas City, Texas with his family at his side. Joe was born on December 28, 1934 in Galveston, Texas to Maurice and Romana Rubio. He was a lifelong fisherman, having worked on many shrimp and oyster boats throughout the Galveston County areas. He was also a skilled carpenter and all-around handyman. He was a lifelong Galveston County resident. He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Romana Rubio, his infant daughter: Rita Lorraine, daughter: Freda Lorraine, and son: Larry Eugene Rubio. He is survived by his two daughters: Diane Brantley and Elizabeth Hernandez; and his son Joel Rubio, Jr. He is also survived by his siblings: Esther Rubio Lamb, Ruth Richie, Henry Robert (Ester) Rubio, Maurice Rubio, Jr., Brenda Rubio, and Raymond (Dolores) Rubio. He also leaves to cherish his memory his favorite deer hunting buddies, nephews: Mike Rubio, Ryan Rubio, and Kelly Quinn; his favorite nieces: Frances Ochoa Martinez, Mona Lisa Ochoa Garcia, and Vivian Driscoll. Also left to cherish his memory are a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. His wish was to be cremated and the family will hold memorial services at a later date.
