Mrs. Luejency Harrison
December 30, 1923 - June 14, 2018
On December 30, 1923 God adorned this earth with her beautiful presence, born to Albert Sr. and Lou Ellen Harrison in Phelps, Texas. She was raised in a loving Christian Home where Jesus was the focal point. She gave her life to Christ as a youth being baptized. She remained a woman of strong faith in God until she was called home. Upon moving to Texas City, Luejency united with Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in West Texas City, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Sylvester Anderson. She severed faithfully until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She loved the Lord and loved to study His word. She was a woman of great faith and prayer. Luejency was employed with The American Indemnity Company for decades before her retirement. Being with her family was her biggest joy, she loved cooking family dinners and visiting with her neighbors on Albert Street. When someone you love becomes a memory that memory becomes a treasure. God reached out and took her hand on the 14th day of June, 2018 at 9:30 am at Ashton Parke Care Center. Luejency Harrison was everything precious and dear in life; the very picture of strength, beauty, and wisdom. And her sweet fragrance of love will be missed by her family. She will be remembered as a remarkable woman; with a combination of kindness, warmth and love for us all. She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Faye Louise Surgers and Lois Marie Nelson; step-children, Paul Beard, Gloria Ann Beard and Carl E. Beard; grandchildren, Anthony B. Lacy, Claude Lacy, Jr. and Glenn Jenkins; three great-grandchildren, siblings, Mabel Harrison and Willie Henry Harrison; aunt, Mary Jane Watt; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Awaiting her in Glory were her parents Albert and Lou Ellen Harrison; siblings, Anderson Lee Harrison, Alberteen Harrison, Sr., Johnny Lee Harrison, Sr., John West Harrison, Sr., James Harrison, Sr., Mozell Cleveland and Annie Rose Harrison Price.
